Founded on October 1, 1918, the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge stands as a beacon of community service and leadership. As one of the largest clubs among Rotary International’s global network of over 30,000 clubs, we are driven by the motto “Service Above Self.” We are unique not only in our size but also in our operations, with a dedicated office and staff. Our members include hundreds of Baton Rouge’s most influential leaders and professionals from various industries, all committed to making a meaningful impact in our community and beyond.

Global Grants Scholarship
The Rotary Club of Baton Rouge offers the Global Grants Scholarship for graduate students committed to fostering change and addressing critical issues aligned with Rotary’s seven areas of focus. This prestigious scholarship supports graduate studies outside of the recipient’s home country, promoting a deeper understanding and practical knowledge in fields such as peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, economic and community development, and environmental support.
Requirements:
- Applicants are required to select a university and study program that resonates with these themes, providing a detailed budget and study plan as part of their application.
- To be eligible, candidates must not be Rotarians, their spouses or their lineal descendants.
- Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent academic performance, robust public speaking or interpersonal communication skills, high ethical standards and a strong record of civic engagement or commitment.
- Proficiency in the language of the host country, along with a thorough knowledge of local and global sociopolitical issues, is also essential.
